Nancy Williams-Foley

Person-Centred Counselling

Hello! I’m Nancy. I am a registered, qualified professional with extensive experience of working therapeutically with individuals and groups.

I have studied a broad range of therapeutic modalities as I started training in 1995, studying with the central school of counselling and therapy in London. I then went on to study body and energy work, practicing many complementary therapies. My ongoing studies and research have continued to focus on the connection between the physical body, mind and spirit. I studied degrees in psychology with clinical psychology at Hull university and acupuncture with the oriental school of medicine. I regularly undertake continuous professional development, frequently attending lectures, training workshops and conferences in order to keep up to date with the latest science and best practice. I have worked across a number of therapeutic settings, within the NHS, corporate workplace settings and the 3rd sector charitable organisations.

I will work with you in a gentle and collaborative way, helping you to explore the link between physical and emotional wellness. Meeting you where you are and Supporting you to safely explore and understand to develop a range of strategies, tools and techniques that will enable you to achieve a greater understanding of your individual needs and trust in your own ability to create lasting change so that you can live your most authentic and empowered life.

I absolutely love living in Edinburgh and exploring this wonderfully historically interesting city. I really enjoy nature and start each day with a beautiful walk with friends. I’m obsessed with learning and personal development so I read in any spare moment and have a bit of a book buying habit. I also really appreciate fine coffee, so a lovely walk to cafe with a book is my happy place.
