Your Wellbeing in 2022

With every new year there is an opportunity for change, for growth.  We make promises to ourselves in the new year resolutions we make, but often these promises are difficult to keep and can dwindle by the Spring.  Sometimes that can make us feel guilty and that we have failed.  Yet, there is optimism in the choice of change for the better.  Hope walks astride the New Year bells.  And how wonderful that people recognise the potential to nurture themselves or improve their lives or grow as a more fulfilled human being.  So, there is no failure, only distraction, the reverting to old, repeated routines, static patterns of living and maybe boredom with inappropriate choices.

A new perspective can help. Try asking yourself the following questions:

~What do you enjoy?

~What do you feel passionate about?

~What change do you want to make in your life?

~How realistic on a practical level is the change(s) you want to make?

~Can the change(s) be over a longer period of time?

Perhaps two changes rather than five can help us focus and build confidence in our abilities. You have an enormous potential for choice and change.  Working our way through a pandemic is challenging but we can still make changes to improve our wellbeing. Some of my favourite ways to do this are below.

~Spending more time in nature. A walk in the forest or beside the sea can be hugely enhancing of mood.

~Subtle changes in diet can promote a healthier immune system for protection and overall better physical health.

~More time to rest or sleep can balance us, improving anxiety levels and our coping skills.

~And of course, seeing a counsellor or therapist can be quite transformative in itself for overall health and wellbeing.

You have more power over your life than you think. Being aware of self-care and your own wellbeing can truly begin positive change

I wish you health and joy throughout the coming year.

May our global health improve in 2022, paving the way to a better and brighter future.
